I decided to write this memoir because I wanted to help people who have seen and/or experienced physical, sexual, emotional, psychological, or economic abuse. And if you have not, you may know someone who has. I’m not a doctor, a therapist, a psychologist, or a psychiatrist. I am a woman of God.
I pray that he will use me as a vessel on earth and shine his light through me to help all his children who are suffering, in pain, or carrying heavy burdens. I know what it is like to live a life in denial and full of pain, shame, guilt, and humiliation. I know what it feels like to experience abandonment and rejection.
I have learned that acknowledging and telling the truth is a great start to the healing process. You can live as an overcomer and find freedom from it all. Whatever you have been through is not your fault. It does not define the person you are today, or the person God is building you up to be:
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
(Matthew 11:28 NIV)
Wholeness comes from focusing on balancing the body and spirit.”
